Jamie Lee Curtis on Jake Gyllenhaal, working with Arnold Schwarzenegger
- TV Show
Back in 1994, Jamie Lee Curtis starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in True Lies, a film originally presented as “Arnold Schwarnezegger in True Lies starring Jamie Lee Curtis.” But director James Cameron finished the movie and realized it was as much Curtis’ film as it was Schwarzenegger’s, so he asked if her name could be above the film’s title, too. Schwarzenegger’s answer? Absolutely.
“I’m telling you, in the world of show business — show-off business is how I like to refer to that — that is such a coveted, negotiable commodity, the credit,” Curtis told EW and People editorial director Jess Cagle on Sirius XM’s EW Radio. “Arnold Schwarzenegger said, ‘Absolutely.’ … There was not a question that he would do that.”

Curtis, who’s currently starring in Fox’s Scream Queens, also gushed about Jake Gyllenhaal: “I knew him as a babe, as a small kid,” Curtis, who told Cagle she was actually going to lunch with Gyllenhaal’s mom following the interview, explained. “So when he actually started show business, I said, ‘Look, I’m your celebrity godmother.'”
