Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are going back to the well with HBO.

The Project Greenlight duo are on board to executive produce HBO Films’ Thirst, a movie set against the backdrop of the global water crisis, EW has confirmed.

Elliott Lester (Nightingale) will direct from a script by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond, In the Heart of the Sea).

“We are thrilled to be working with HBO on this project; we cannot think of a better partner to handle this type of film,” Damon and Affleck said in a statement. “Both Elliott and Chuck are creative forces who bring an extraordinary vision to the material, and we are very excited to be a part of it.”

Lester, Josh Weinstock, Jennifer Todd, and Drew Vinton will join Damon and Affleck as executive producers on Thirst, with Leavitt and Margaret Chernin serving as co-executive producers.

Thirst continues HBO’s working relationship with Damon and Affleck, who recently revived their moviemaking reality series Greenlight after a decade-plus absence from the premium cable channel.

Damon and Affleck of course go way back together, to the days of Good Will Hunting and Chasing Amy.
