If exercise videos have one major flaw, it’s that they show us how to work out, but they never explain the proper noises we should make when we work out. Terry Crews helped James Corden solve this problem on Thursday night’s episode of The Late Late Show.

Corden was the professional lifter and Crews appeared as “the guy who really let himself go.” The host coached Crews, showing him how the professionals sound when they work out, but Crews one-upped Corden, embarrassing him in front of his “friends.”

“You don’t have any friends, stop playing,” Crews told Corden.

The two then went back and forth, trading grunts and screams, outdoing one another for the louder workout.

Watch the clip above to see Crews and Corden compete, “poke the beast,” and eventually “feel the noise.”
