Sofia Vergara watched Married... with Children in Colombia

Having been on Modern Family and playing a character married to Ed O’Neill is more of a dream come true for Sofia Vergara than fans might have ever imagined.

While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Modern Family actress revealed that O’Neill has been a part of her life for much longer than the last six years of her life. She used to watch O’Neill as Al Bundy in Married… with Children when she lived in Colombia. But because of the dubbing, meeting her new onscreen husband was a bit of a shock when he didn’t actually speak Spanish.

“…[O’Neill] used to speak Spanish, it was dubbed, so I always thought Ed spoke Spanish,” Vergara said. “He had a very sexy Antonio Banderas voice, the guy who was dubbing him.”
