Alex Borstein has landed a guest-starring role on CBS’ new comedy Life in Pieces, EW has learned exclusively.

Life in Pieces follows the various members of the Short family and the different life events they’re facing, including the parents John and Joan (James Brolin and Dianne Weist); the youngest son Greg (Colin Hanks) and his wife Jen’s (Zoe Lister-Jones) trials with newfound parenthood; the middle child Matt’s (Thomas Sadoski) budding romance; and the eldest daughter Heather (Betsy Brandt) and husband Tim’s (Dan Bakkedahl) fear of an empty nest.

The Getting On and Family Guy star will play Lynette, Joan and Heather’s overly chatty hairdresser, who they both want to fire. Heather finally decides to lie and say she’s moving to Paris, leaving Joan behind with a bad haircut and a big lie to uphold.

Life in Pieces premieres Monday, Sept. 21 at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
