A presidential candidate is congratulating the Governator on his Apprentice takeover.

Donald Trump tweeted a message to Arnold Schwarzenegger following NBC’s surprising announcement Monday that the movie icon has signed on to host the reality franchise next year.

Note the details here. Trump touts Schwarzenegger as a friend. Then he apologizes for not doing Apprentice any longer — as if everybody is getting really upset about that part of the changeover even though was announced back in June — and claims equal time rules prevent him from continuing on the show. But it was NBC who broke things off with Trump, and not after his presidential announcement, but after Trump’s inflammatory comments about Mexican immigration while citing the company’s “respect and dignity for all people” (otherwise, NBC would have almost certainly played wait-and-see and held Trump’s hosting gig for him, hiring a replacement only if Trump actually became president).

At any rate, so far, Trump’s friend has not replied:
