Kunal Nayyar’s memoir, Yes, My Accent Is Real: And Some Other Things I Haven’t Told You, comes out Sept. 15, and readers will have the option of actually hearing The Big Bang Theory actor (and his accent) in the audiobook edition.

In the interview clip below, Nayyar talks about the experience of recording his writing, the similarities between him and Raj, his Big Bang character, and why he chose to narrate the book. “I wanted to record this audiobook because it’s fun for the listener to listen to this book in the cadence of how I speak,” Nayyar says.

The book is a collection of essays about his experiences, from growing up in New Delhi to moving to the U.S. and landing his breakout role. “I’m this kid from Delhi who ended up on one of the biggest TV shows of all time, and it was quite a journey,” Nayyar says. “I hope that listeners will listen to that journey, and take a few risks, and also laugh a lot.”
