Postmodern Jukebox’s latest cover throws “pop music in a time machine” by putting a 1940s spin on The Strokes’ “Somebody,” nearly 14 years after the original’s release.

The deceitful happiness from the original is absent, but The big band take presents a distorted but welcome spin on the single: The feeling of an unfulfilled life is easier to grasp when the joyful guitars are put away. Watch out for the sleepy saxophonist in the corner, who awakens and rises to the occasion.
