As the Emmy Awards approach, there’s one question on everyone’s mind: Who is the greatest actor of all time? Late Night with Seth Meyers finally has a way to find the answer — and it involves a lot of running.

On Thursday’s show, host Seth Meyers announced the Actathlon Challenge, which he calls “a multi-stage theatrical obstacle course designed to measure and test an actor’s commitment to the craft of acting.” Neil Patrick Harris was up first. Judged by three professional Johnny Depp impersonators, Harris stared introspectively into a mirror, hacked a mainframe, said goodbye to his son at the door, and promoted a movie about Connect Four as if it were an Oscar contender. How did he prepare for the games?

“Well, first Seth, I gained 75 pounds,” Harris explained. “And then I lost it. And then I embedded myself in Seal Team 6. And then I got my teeth whitened.”

Watch the full challenge above to see if his work paid off.
