- TV Show
As the creator, producer, director, writer, and star of TNT’s Public Morals, it should come as little surprise that Ed Burns has had the idea for the new drama kicking around in various forms for some time. It just took a little help from Steven Spielberg to turn the idea into a reality.
In an interview with EW’s Kyle Anderson for Sirius XM Radio, Burns described the process of bringing Public Morals to TV, and the various scripts he had written over the years that would eventually become some of the stories he used for the show. Thanks to inspiration from his family, and some encouragement from Spielberg while filming Saving Private Ryan and in the years since, Burns was able to take his passion for the original idea and turn it into the new drama.
