It's on: Team 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' has officially entered the ring in the competition against Team 'Carter'
Team S.H.I.E.L.D. has spoken. Or rather, lip-synced.
After Agent Carter‘s Hayley Atwell and James D’Arcy kicked off round 1 of the Dubsmash Wars for Charity, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennet, and Adrianne Palicki — along with recurring costar Patton Oswalt – have hit back with their rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” complete with actual swinging wrecking balls. Reminds us of a previous Hayley Atwell Dubsmash.
The Marvel actors announced the contest following their back-and-forth battles during Comic-Con, which ended in a Team Carter victory (thanks to an appearance by Captain America). This time, fans can cast their votes by donating to charity — Stomp Out Bullying for Team Carter and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital for Team S.H.I.E.L.D.
For their video, Atwell and D’Arcy enlisted the help of newly single Miss Piggy. Clad in a Peggy Carter costume, she joined the actors as they performed to Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies.”
In the days following the relase, Team Carter took the lead with just over $8,000 as of this writing but S.H.I.E.L.D. fans weren’t far behind, donating more than $7,000 even before their faves could respond.
Dubsmash Wars will continue for two more rounds, after which the losing team will personally donate $2,000 to the winning team’s charity and perform a Dubsmash choreographed and costumed by the winners. Fans will also be entered to win prizes, including a trip to Hollywood to meet the Marvel stars and record a Dubsmash right along with them.
