Who would win in a fight, Batman or Superman? According to Tom Hardy, neither — because he wants Bane to return and school them both. As the DC cinematic universe continues to expand, the Legend star said he would love to return as “The Breaker of the Bat” to prove who has the real muscle.

During the press rounds for Legend, in which Hardy plays twin gangster brothers, MTV asked the actor if he would ever want to return to the DC world. “Of course,” he responded. “I’m Bane.”

Hardy portrayed the classic Batman villain in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, where he did battle against Christian Bale’s brooding superhero. But he thinks Bane could take on both of DC’s founding fathers.

“Somebody asked me who would I want to win out in a fight between Superman and Batman,” Hardy said, “and I would like to hold the pair of them under the water until the bubbles stop.” Watch the video below.

Ben Affleck will succeed Bale as Batman in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The film also stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
