With copious amounts of nudity, violence, garish lighting, and absurd plot developments, The Editor has almost everything you could want from a ’70s Italian “giallo” horror movie. The interesting thing? The Editor is actually a new film that both spoofs and pays deep homage to the genre. The other interesting thing? It was made by Canadians — directors Adam Brooks and Matthew Kennedy, both of whom belong to the filmmaking collective, Astron-6.

Starring Brooks, Kennedy, Paz de la Huerta, Human Centipede 2 actor Laurence R. Harvey, and genre icon Udo Kier, among others, The Editor is available to buy on Blu-ray Sept. 8.

You can get a bloody taste of this insane, and insanely entertaining, movie in the exclusive clip, below.
