It looks like Coach is one series that’s not getting the inevitable nostalgia-tinged revival.

Sources have confirmed to EW that NBC is no longer moving forward with its planned revival of the 1990s sitcom starring Craig T. Nelson. The project was described as a sequel to the original, which ran on ABC from 1989 to 1997. It would have brought back Nelson in his starring role as Hayden Fox, as well as original creator Barry Kemp as executive producer.

NBC ordered 13 episodes of the multi-cam comedy back in March. In April, Nelson admitted to EW that it was a “risky” choice to bring it back.

“I’m a little bit anxious and hopeful. It’s risky,” he said at the TV Land Awards. “I love the challenge.”

No further details are known on why the network decided to pull the plug.
