Following the news that Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant will be re-released in theaters, voice actor Vin Diesel is now teasing the potential for a sequel.

“I have been very lucky to have played so many interesting characters… one of the first and one of my favorites is… the Iron Giant,” he wrote on his popular Facebook page. “P.s. Don’t be surprised when you hear WB announce the sequel.”

Diesel, who voiced the title character in the animated film, has a habit of drumming up buzz for potential projects on social media. In the past he got his fans riled up over a possible role in Marvel’s Inhumans movie, a Hannibal the Conqueror passion project, and a third XXX. So it’s important to take what he says with a grain of salt, but, as he mentioned, keep your eyes peeled on the Iron Giant front.

The Iron Giant re-release will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival before hitting theaters on Sept. 30. Additional screenings will be held on Oct. 4 at 12 p.m. local time.
