The Martian might be just a movie, but astrophysicist and cosmologist Neil deGrasse Tyson makes the Ares 3 mission seem real in the latest promo for the film. During an episode of StarTalk, Tyson introduces the spacecraft and reveals the dangers of traveling to Mars, which include solar flares, asteroids, and meteoroids.

Still, he believes Ares is “our greatest adventure.” “Earth, a magnificent world to which we owe our creation no longer seems destined to be our final resting place,” Tyson says.

The Martian, based on Andy Weir’s bestsellig novel and directed by Ridley Scott, follows six astronauts’ journey to Mars, one of whom (Matt Damon) gets stranded on the Red Planet. His crewmates include Michael Peña, Jessica Chastain, Aksel Hennie, Sebastian Stan, and Kate Mara. Donald Glover and Kristen Wiig also star.
