Bruce Springsteen cemented his storied future on Aug. 25, 1975, when he dropped his third studio album, Born to Run. Released two years after the musician’s 1973 debut, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., the record gave Springsteen his first entries on the Billboard Hot 100, making him a critical darling and platinum-selling commercial success.

The Grammy winner has continued his run with more than a dozen albums in the years since, but Born to Run remains one of his most celebrated projects to date. In honor of the album’s 40th anniversary, test your knowledge of the lyrics to “Born to Run” ahead.
