Marriage may be a grind for Nat Faxon on Married, but now he’s about to enter the world of The Grinder

EW has learned that the Married actor will guest-star in an episode of the Fox comedy featuring Rob Lowe as an actor who played a lawyer on TV before moving home to Boise and trying to follow in the footsteps of his brother (Fred Savage), a real attorney.

Faxon is playing Lyle Gerhart, an upper-crust Boise resident with deep pockets and connections, as well as his name on a couple of charitable foundations. “He has an effortlessly cool vibe, but still manages to come off as a friendly, normal guy — so much so, in fact, that it borders on phony,” reads the character description.

The episode also includes the first of two guest spots by Entourage alum Emmanuel Chriqui.

Faxon’s recent TV credits include Marry Me, Trophy Wife, and Ben & Kate. The actor, who won an Oscar for co-writing The Descendants, has also popped up on Happy Endings, Mad Men, NCIS, and Party Down.

The Grinder kicks off Sept. 29 on Fox.
