Vanessa Hudgens has dominated the stage ever since her High School Musical days, and this winter, she’ll head back to the small screen for Fox’s live action performance of Grease.

“I feel like I know Grease backwards and forwards,” Hudgens told EW at the 2015 Industry Dance Awards and Cancer Benefit Show in Hollywood on Wednesday. “It’s just one of those iconic movies that I’ve seen over and over and over again.”

The actress joined the Grease: Live cast as Rizzo back in January, and says she looks forward to recreating the iconic character. “She’s deep, you know,” Hudges says. “She’s a toughie. So I’m excited to kind of sink my teeth in to that. That’s a character I’ve never played before so it’ll be fun and a challenge.”

Julianne Hough, Keke Palmer, Aaron Tveit and Carlos PenaVega are also signed on for the performance, which debuts Jan. 31 on Fox.

As the date nears, Hudgens says she’ll revisit the film, originally released in 1978. She admits, “As we get closer there will be a bit more Grease re-watching going on!”
