'Twilight' costars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner reunite at the 'American Ultra' premiere
Bella Swan and Jacob Black back together: Twilight costars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner reunited on Tuesday at the premiere of Stewart’s latest film, American Ultra.
Based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling book series, Twilight helped launch Stewart and her fellow costars into the public eye with five films over the course of five years. And though it’s only been a few years since the final film, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, hit theaters, would Stewart be up for returning to Forks? Not exactly.
In a recent interview with Uproxx, Stewart was asked whether she cared if Twilight received the remake treatment down the road, given the number of popular films being rebooted these days. According to the actress, while she would be “fascinated” by a theoretical reboot, she wouldn’t necessarily want to participate in a round two.
“I was so genuinely, heavily entrenched in that, and not in a way that felt like an obligation. Even though after the first one, which stood alone, it lasted a long time,” Stewart told Uproxx. “It’s hard to speak to a five-year period in a few sentences, but I loved doing it. But that doesn’t mean I want to keep doing it. But if other people? Yeah, sure. To be honest with you: I would be interested. I’d be kind of fascinated, but it wouldn’t emotionally affect me one way or the other.”
American Ultra hits theaters on Friday.
