Everyone from Han Solo to Captain America was in the house at Disney’s D23 Expo this weekend, and although there was plenty of news coming from onstage, several stars shared a behind-the-scenes look at the event on Instagram and Twitter.

Social media superstar Dwayne Johnson made a surprise appearance at the presentation for Moana, in which he voices a self-professed demigod in the South Pacific. The Rock shared a video from the stage of his standing ovation, writing, “Damn I love surprising people!! Stepped out on stage and 8,000 people went bananas!! Want to thank our brilliant filmmakers for their inspired and magical work on #MOANA. Our early footage is a testament to creating something very special for the world to enjoy.”

Johnson also met up with Rashida Jones, who was there with her Toy Story 4 co-writer Will McCormack. Disney’s chief creative officer John Lasseter recently announced that the upcoming Toy Story sequel will focus on a love story between Woody and Bo Peep.

After debuting the first footage from Captain America: Civil War, Anthony Mackie took to Twitter to share photos with other Disney stars like Ben Kingsley, Chris Pine, and, of course, his co-star Chris Evans. “Want to thank everyone who was there today,” Mackie wrote. “We are lucky to do what we love and enjoy sharing it with you!”

Director Jon Favreau introduced Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, and Neel Sethi on stage yesterday, but he also posted a few behind-the-scenes selfies with his Jungle Book cast — plus a photo with the event’s biggest surprise star, Harrison Ford.

Nyong’o, who will appear in Disney’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Jungle Book, and The Queen of Katwe, wrote yesterday that she was “geekin’ out” at D23. After the event, she took her first trip to Disneyland, donning her first mouse ears and braving Splash Mountain.

Who else stopped by Disneyland? Daisy Ridley, who finished off a long day of Star Wars press by visiting Disneyland’s Star Tours. Ridley, who plays Rey in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, had just joined Instagram earlier that day to document her time at D23.
