In her revealing cover story for Marie Claire, Miley Cyrus opens up about her friendship with Caitlyn Jenner.

“We’ve talked a lot about how you can never make every single person happy,” she told the magazine. “We always laugh about people saying she transitioned to be famous. Which is crazy. Caitlyn has to tell her story, because if she doesn’t, everyone else is going to tell it for her.”

Of course, it’s no surprise that the two are friendly — following Jenner’s Vanity Fair reveal, Cyrus was one of the first people to show her support on social media. The singer-actress is also an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights as the founder of the Happy Hippie Foundation, which seeks to help homeless and at-risk LGBT youth.

Furthermore, in order to raise money for HIV and AIDS research, Cyrus auctioned off four pieces of art inspired by Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover at amfAR’s Inspiration Gala back in June.

In Marie Claire‘s September issue, Cyrus also got candid about the body dysmorphia she felt while playing as Hannah Montana, and questioned why Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” is supposed to be a “good example.” Read the rest over at Marie Claire.
