Diablo Cody’s not stepping behind the camera anymore: “I am retired from directing,” the screenwriter told The Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t think I possess the leadership qualities required to be a director.”

Cody made her directing debut in 2013 with Paradise, a film starring Julianne Hough, Russell Brand, Octavia Spencer, and Holly Hunter — and it didn’t do quite as well as the films she’s written, which include the more critically popular Juno and Young Adult. It currently has a 21 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Cody, who won an Oscar for writing Juno, also penned Meryl Streep’s movie, Ricki and the Flash, which is currently in theaters. Read more from her Hollywood Reporter story here.
