On Monday, EW confirmed that Zac Efron is in talks to star opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the upcoming Baywatch movie. And Efron promises fans that the film, based on the 1990s series by the same name, will be “badass.”

“It’s going to be R-rated and it’s going to be badass,” the actor told Reuters Tuesday.

In a tweet welcoming Efron to the cast, Johnson mentioned the movie’s rating, adding that the Baywatch flick will be “big” and “fun.” Efron responded on Twitter saying he is “so stoked.”

At the We Are Your Friends premiere in London Tuesday night, Efron also suggested to Reuters that the Baywatch movie wouldn’t bear many similarities to its small screen predecessor. “I don’t think it’s going to be much like the old Baywatch to be honest,” he told the news outlet. “I think we’re going to kind of reinvent it in a big way, and he [Johnson] has big plans for it. I know he’s very ambitious.”

Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) will direct the film, which is set to begin production early next year.
