No one told us life was going to be this way: Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc weren’t invited to Jennifer Aniston’s wedding.

“What can you do?” Perry asked People on Monday at a Television Critics Association press event. Aniston wed Justin Theroux on Wednesday; fellow Friends castmates Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow were in attendance.

But before you break out the “real” ice cream that you save for the truly terminal cases, the costars insist that they’ll always be family.

“I think they’re a great couple. I think she’s happy. And that’s all I care about is that Jen’s happy,” LeBlanc told People. “If she wanted me there, I would have been there.”

This isn’t the first time LeBlanc has missed Aniston’s nuptials. “I missed when she married Brad [Pitt],” he said. “I was in Austria working. She called me, and she was like, ‘You’re really not coming to my wedding?’ And I was like, ‘I asked them if they could change the schedule. I would fly and clap and fly out.’ And they said, ‘We can’t do it. It’s too tight.’ It was a small-budget movie in Austria you’ve never heard of. Probably should have left anyway, but s— happens. What are you going to do?”
