George Lopez is coming back to TV. His new half-hour, single-camera comedy series Lopez has gotten a 12-episode order at TV Land, and will begin airing on the network in 2016.

Lopez will play a version of himself, and the series will see him navigating between two worlds. “Too rich to go back to his working class, Latino roots, and too ‘brown’ to feel comfortable in his affluent celebrity life, being George Lopez comes with many problems,” reads a network release.

Lopez, whose comedy series George Lopez ran for six seasons from 2002–2007, will both star in and executive produce Lopez. Silicon Valley co-creators John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky will write the series in addition to executive producing along with Michael Rotenberg and Troy Miller.

“I’m excited that TV Land realizes that my personal challenges, insecurities and inability to connect are all part of my charm,” Lopez jokes.
