Nick Jonas tackled one of the summer’s biggest hits while performing in the Dominican Republic on Saturday. During what Jonas called “one of my favorite shows I’ve played this year,” he broke out OMI’s “Cheerleader,” and fans couldn’t help but cheer him on and sing along.

Jonas gave the reggae fusion track some pop flare, and let the crowd handle the chorus. Check out Jonas’ version in the fan-shot video:

Jonas isn’t the only artist to cover “Cheerleader” this summer. Pentatonix gave it an a capella makeover while opening for Kelly Clarkson in July. The track topped the Bilboard Hot 100 in July, and has been No. 1 on iTunes in more than 50 countries since it debuted. “I want to be known for doing world music,” OMI told EW in a recent interview. “I want to connect with people!”
