How do you make a movie about Meryl Streep as a rowdy rocker even better? Add in a Lady Gaga cover. Check out the three-time Oscar winner belt out Mother Monster’s “Bad Romance” thanks to her upcoming film, Ricki and the Flash.

Streep, 66, already went Into the Woods, but now she’s playing Ricki, a woman who left her family behind to pursue the life of a rock star. She sings a number of songs in the film — including Tom Petty’s “American Girl,” Sam the Sham and the Pharoah’s “Wooly Bully,” and Dobie Gray’s “Drift Away” — but it’s gems like this that keep the good vibes rolling.

While Streep’s rendition of “Bad Romance” only plays for a few moments in the film, the full version is on the film’s soundtrack, which is available now. Listen below.

Also among the soundtrack’s offerings is “Cold One,” which Ricki sings to her ex-husband (Kevin Kline) and daughter (Mamie Gummer) after reuniting with her family.

“All that stuff is 100 percent pure Meryl Streep,” director Jonathan Demme told Entertainment Weekly. His star took guitar lessons with legendary musician Neil Young and rehearsed for weeks with her co-star Rick Springfield. “Meryl developed and created this character,” he continued, “her musical personality, the way she moves, the way she dances on the stage, the way she plays.”

Ricki and the Flash is playing now in theaters.
