In the British thriller Catch Me Daddy, newcomer Sameena Jabeen Ahmed plays a teenager named Laila who attempts to flee from her criminal family with her boyfriend, Aaron, pursued by a couple of mercenary thugs.

The debut movie from filmmaker Daniel Wolfe — who wrote Catch Me Daddy with his brother, Matthew — screened as part of the Directors’ Fortnight at last year’s Cannes Festival and costars Conor McCarron and Gary Lewis, from the Starz show Outlander.

Catch Me Daddy opens in L.A. on Aug. 7 and is scheduled for a VOD release on Sept. 8.
