Hailee Steinfeld, pop star. The Academy Award-nominated Pitch Perfect 2 star released her debut single Friday after teasing it on social media this week.

Called “Love Myself” and produced by Mattman & Robin, it’s an empowering dance-y track with lyrics like, “I know how to scream my own name/ I love me/ Gonna love myself, no I don’t need anybody else.”

Steinfeld first signed a recording contract with Republic Records in May, and her voice was featured on Pitch Perfect 2‘s soundtrack. (Fans will remember her beautiful acoustic version of “Flashlight.”)

“The moment that we met Hailee we found her commitment to music inspiring,” Republic Records’ executive vice president Charlie Walk said in a statement when announcing her deal. “She has the vision, natural talent, and dedication to compete at the highest level. We are thrilled to be part of her musical journey.”

Steinfeld also got a taste of the pop star life when she joined Taylor Swift on stage during her 1989 tour and appeared in Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video.
