If there’s one thing recent Super Bowl history has taught us, it’s that when the chips are down, you should definitely give the football to Marshawn Lynch.

Or should you? That’s the quandary faced by Taco (Jon Lajoie) in the season 7 premiere of the winningly deranged fantasy football sitcom The League, which airs Sept. 9, at 10 p.m. ET on FXX, and features Lynch in its cold opening. As is so often the case, Taco resolves the situation in a manner which does little to improve the life and general well-being of his brother, Kevin (Steve Rannazzisi).

“We are Seahawks season ticket-holders and we had so much fun having Marshawn on last year that we had to do it again,” said The League executive producers Jackie and Jeff Schaffer in an email. “If the Seahawks had won the Super Bowl, it was going to be a parody of the ‘I’m going to Disney World!’ ads. As you may have heard, that did not happen. So after we cried ourselves to sleep for the next month, we knew what the scene had to be about….”

The League also stars Mark Duplass, Nick Kroll, Katie Aselton, and Paul Scheer.
