The late, larger-than-life comedian Chris Farley is receiving the documentary treatment in I Am Chris Farley, an illuminating look at his childhood and rise to Hollywood fame as an SNL cast member.

The doc is full of never-before-seen footage of Farely and interviews with his friends, family members (including brother Kevin, who executive produced the project), and colleagues such as Bob Odenkirk, David Spade, Mike Meyers, and Molly Shannon.

In this exclusive clip, Odenkirk pays tribute to Farley’s work as Matt “Well, la-dee-frickin’-da!” Foley, the motivational speaker whose residence is a van down by the river. Click on the video to see Farley in action as Foley back in the days of Second City, before he brought the full-mouthed character to SNL.

I Am Chris Farley airs August 10 at 9 p.m. ET on Spike, and is available on iTunes/VOD on Aug. 11.
