In an exclusive promo for E!’s The Comment Section, producer Joel McHale reveals the hidden truth about Internet commenters: they’re all just Veep actor Tony Hale writing impassioned missives about Harry Styles.

To be sure, he couldn’t possibly be the first man to have confusing feelings for One Direction’s resident long-haired Mick Jagger impersonator, or to think that people should “listen to some real music — Toby Keith forever!”

The half-hour series, hosted by comedian Michael Kosta, explores the week’s news in pop culture through the lens of the absurd Internet comments found on Twitter and comment threads everywhere. (Too bad for them they missed out on Louis Tomlinson’s baby news — that would have been one wild premiere.)

The Comment Section premieres Friday at 10:30 p.m. ET on E!.
