With a lineup that included Paul McCartney, Sam Smith, The Weeknd, Alabama Shakes, and Florence + the Machine, Lollapalooza had a ton to offer in Chicago last weekend. Whether you livestreamed the acts or experienced them live in Grant Park, chances are you’ll love the images photographer Jill Greenberg captured behind the scenes from the fest. Featuring stills of artists like Alesso, Tove Lo, and Charli XCX, Greenberg’s photos were taken for Instagram’s Portrait Series.

“I had about three to five minutes for each artist or band, so it was simpler when it was just one singer to get a nice portrait,” Greenberg tells EW via email. “I was working alone with no lights or reflectors and a DSLR. In most cases I had not heard their music so it was a bit crazy!”

Greenberg hadn’t been to Lollapalooza since 1994 and approached the festival’s organizer C3 Presents to do this project. “I liked the challenge of run and gun existing light portraits.”

While the series includes over two dozen photos, here are 11 of our favorites:

Wild Belle

TV On The Radio

Ryn Weaver

Boys Noize

Tove Lo

Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell on stage with Metallica’s Robert Trujillo

Charli XCX

The Helmets

Gary Clark Jr.
