As ABC Family prepares to bring the adventures of Clary Fray to the small screen, EW has your exclusive first look at Shadowhunters.

Based on the best-selling book series, The Mortal Instruments, the story follows Clary, a fiery young artist who finds herself in the middle of some serious supernatural drama upon discovering she comes from a line of Shadowhunters – part-human, part-angel warriors dedicated to hunting down demons. After her mother is kidnapped, Clary explores this new world filled with warlocks, fairies, werewolves, and vampires where she begins to unravel the secrets of her past. And, of course, she has a little help from her nerdy BFF Simon and a handsome and mysterious Shadowhunter named Jace.

In the above photo, taken in the second episode, Clary (Katherine McNamara) and Jace (Dominic Sherwood) are seen heading into the City of Bones — the sacred burial place of all Shadowhunters.

In the third episode, Jace, Clary, Alec (Matthew Daddario), and Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) mean business on a rescue mission.

Lastly, here’s Clary and Jace crashing a warlock party — as you do.

Shadowhunters also stars Alberto Rosende and Harry Shum Jr. It’s slated to premiere on ABC Family in 2016.
