Jon Stewart wasted no time on Wednesday’s episode of The Daily Show addressing reports that he had conducted secret meetings with President Barack Obama — and Fox News’ response to those reports. And while it turns out he did have those not-so-secret meetings, his mother’s group of friends remain unimpressed by his accomplishments.

The Daily Show host opened up about the Politico report detailing that he met with President Obama and the insinuations he assumed others were making about what those meetings entailed. Stewart refuted the notion that these meetings were some attempt to coordinate Obama and Stewart’s messaging. In fact, Stewart took the meetings because he thought, if you say no to the president, “Who the f— knows what would happen?”

Stewart pointed to his interview with Obama on The Daily Show last week as an idea of what the conversations were like — and that there was just “truly the best salmon you’ve ever had” at the White House.

Watch Stewart discuss the meetings below, as well as disclose that he’s had plenty of meetings with other people, including Fox News’ Roger Ailes and Billy Joel. As he reveals, all of those meetings came from the people requesting them wanting to know one simple thing: “Jon, why are you such an a–hole?”
