Venice Film Festival 2015 lineup announced: Beasts of No Nation, Danish Girl, and more
Beasts of No Nation (Book)
The full lineup for the Venice Film Festival was announced Wednesday morning, with projects starring Idris Elba, Kristen Stewart, and Eddie Redmayne among this year’s offerings.
Cary Fukunaga’s Beasts of No Nation, starring Elba, is one of the films in competition at the 72nd annual festival, as is Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl with Oscar-winner Redmayne; Drake Doremus’ Equals, starring Stewart, Nicholas Hoult, and Guy Pearce; and A Bigger Splash, with Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, and Dakoka Johnson.
Director Alfonso Cuarón is the president of this year’s main jury, heading a panel that also includes actresses Elizabeth Banks and Diane Kruger.
It was previously announced that Baltasar Kormakur’s adventure epic Everest will open the Venice festival, screening out-of-competition at the annual event. Johnny Depp’s Black Mass will also debut there out of competition.
