Fourteen years after we first met Joe Dirt, David Spade’s mulleted redneck alter ego is back in a sequel no one asked for—and no one should bother with. Bypassing theaters and debuting on Crackle, Spade’s follow-up is a soggy piñata full of lazy fart gags, schoolyard insults, and riffs on It’s a Wonderful Life. (Joe goes back in time and has to become a wiser man in order to be reunited with his wife and kids.) It’s a shame that realizing Joe Dirt 2 was a bad idea wasn’t part of his time-travel lesson. D
