Just when it seems like James Franco has checked every pseudo-avant garde box out there, he one-ups himself: The actor/writer/director has written an entire book about singer Lana Del Rey, titled Flip-Side: Real and Imaginary Conversations with Lana Del Rey, Stereogum reports.

We should have seen this one coming, as Franco wrote an essay about his friendship with Del Rey in V Magazine earlier this year. “She isn’t made for this earth,” Franco wrote. In fact, it seems the idea for this forthcoming book was in part Del Rey’s idea, too: “‘I wanted to interview Lana for a book,'” he wrote in V, “and she said, ‘Just write around me, it’s better if it’s not my own words. It’s almost better if you don’t get me exactly, but try.'”

Flip-Side, which Franco co-wrote with David Shields, and includes photos of Del Rey, her sister Chuck Grant, and MoMA director Klaus Biesenbach is out March 15, 2016. Check out the cover below:
