Ryan Adams’ latest cover won’t make the same waves as the time he performed Bryan Adams’ “Summer of ’69,” but it’s pretty great.

During a show in Sydney on Tuesday night, Adams took time out to reflect on Dave Grohl. The Foo Fighters frontman broke his leg in June, but tour dates were barely affected. “He was able to continue doing what he loved even though he was totally broken,” Adams said. “This is for that bastard.”

It’s similar to how Grohl sometimes begins the Foos’ standard and live shows and sounds akin to the official acoustic version, albeit even mellower. Watch it above.
