One thing the Comic-Con trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice made very clear was that these characters take themselves extremely seriously. In that way, they’re similar to Charlie Kelly and his painstaking devotion to his rock opera “The Nightman.” “The Nightman Cometh,” the classic episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, featured Charlie’s attempts to stage a play based on his nonsense songs about “Dayman” and “Nightman.” As this mashup shows, those songs perfectly match footage from Batman v Superman.

Highlights include the line about “friendship for everyone” playing over Superman brutally killing Zod and, of course, “champion of the sun” playing while Superman floats above helpless citizens. Watch for yourself, and always remember to pay the Troll Toll.
