The Walking Dead: Rick and Michonne in season 5 deleted scene: Exclusive
- TV Show
There was a pivotal point in the “Forget” episode of season 5 of The Walking Dead in which Carol gave guns she had stolen out of the armory to Daryl and Rick to secretly arm themselves. Rick hesitated, but he took it, ultimately pointing it in a rage at the citizens of Alexandria after his epic bloody brawl with Pete.
But in an exclusive new deleted scene from that same episode that will appear on the season 5 DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital HD being released by Anchor Bay Entertainment on Aug. 25, we see a different Rick preaching a bit of restraint while discussing the gun issue with his fellow constable Michonne.
“Is that true, what you said about us not having our guns?” asks Michonne as they walk the perimeter of the Alexandria wall. “It is,” answers Rick. “These people aren’t ready. I think we should have them, but we’re new. We’ll get there. Right now, it’s their rules and not ours.”
But Rick has a back-up plan. Two back-up plans, in fact — one involving Michonne’s katana. It’s a scene that gives an added layer of meaning to what happens later — with Michonne knocking Rick out after he pulls out the gun — and you can watch the entire thing right now in the video player above.
The Walking Dead: The Complete Fifth Season (including three hours of bonus features) will be released on Aug. 25. And for more Walking Dead scoop, follow Dalton on Twitter @DaltonRoss.
