Carol Burnett Show Lost Episodes: Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and more on her comedian's influence
Before Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, there was Carol Burnett — and the two actresses are candid about the comedy star’s effect on their lives and careers.
“I think one of the things that’s so wonderful about Carol is you feel like even though she can do all these things that you could not do, and she has all these talents — like she can sing, and she’s so funny, and she’s a great physical comedian — you feel like she could have grown up on your street,” Fey says in an interview that appears on The Carol Burnett Show: The Lost Episodes.
Time-Life is releasing the collection, which will include the long-lost episodes of the show’s first five seasons, in two editions: The VIP Edition is personalized by Burnett herself, while the Ultimate Collection includes over 20 hours of extras including outtakes and the below interviews with Fey, Poehler, and Bill Hader as well as with Julie Andrews, Steve Carell, Alan Alda and more.
“We all hail Carol as the queen for a lot of reasons,” Poehler says in her interview. “One is because we grew up watching her, and we will always have those memories of discovering comedy with her and through her. And the other is that she’s so versatile.”
Watch the three exclusive clips from the interviews below along with a clip from the collection, which you can pre-order starting Tuesday at LostCarolEpisodes.com.
