In Sinister 2, a mother and her twin sons find themselves in a house that, according to the official synopsis, has been “marked for death.” Now, that sounds like a bad deal — but, hey, maybe there’s a lot of closet space!

The film is the sequel to 2102’s Ethan Hawke-starring supernatural chiller Sinister, whose director, Scott Derrickson, is currently prepping the Marvel superhero film Doctor Strange and this time around bequeathed filmmaking duties to Ciarán Foy (Citadel). Derrickson did, however, reteam with Sinister cowriter C. Robert Cargill to pen the script for the second installment.

Sinister 2, which stars Shannyn Sossamon, James Ransone, and Robert and Dartanian Sloan, opens Aug. 21. Beware the film’s new, and fairly unnerving, red band trailer.
