  • Jennifer Lawrence has signed on to star in The Rosie Project, a romantic dramedy about a genetics professor who falls in love with a woman who disproves everything he thinks he knows about human compatibility. The Fault in Our Stars adapters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber wrote the script from Graeme Simsion’s book of the same name.   • Dan Fogler will join Eddie Redmayne, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Katherine Waterston on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the much-anticipated Harry Potter spinoff about “magizoologist” Newt Scamander (Redmayne). J.K. Rowling adapted her own book into a script from which David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter films, will direct. [Deadline]
  • Finn Wittrock has joined the cast of Damien Chazelle’s La La Land, which will star Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, and J.K. Simmons. The LA-set musical film from the Whiplash writer-director is about the romance between an actress and a musician, and the obstacles their relationship faces as their careers progress.
