Keith Olbermann and ESPN are over. Again.

The network confirmed on Wednesday that it has decided to “move in another direction” and that the commentator’s ESPN2 show Olbermann will “conclude sometime this month.”

“Keith is a tremendous talent who has consistently done timely, entertaining and thought-provoking work since returning to ESPN,” ESPN said in a statement. “While the show’s content was distinctive and extremely high quality, we ultimately made a business decision to move in another direction. We wish Keith nothing but the best and trust that his skill and ability will lead him to another promising endeavor.”

The news comes just two years after the notoriously outspoken commentator returned to ESPN2 despite what was often a less-than-friendly relationship with the network. Most recently, reports surfaced that ESPN would only extend his two year contact if he “cease engaging in ‘commentary'” on Olbermann.
