This just in: A faux news report from News Front with Christine Everhart—a journalist played by Leslie Bibb featured in Iron Man and Iron Man 2—posted online Thursday, linking Marvel’s latest flick, Ant-Man, to its greater cinematic universe.

“We’ll discuss the fallout of the most recent Avengers conflict in Sokovia, and the ongoing aid efforts in that region,” Everhart says in the WHIH (Marvel’s fictional news network) promo. “Also, we’ll revisit a story from a few years ago in the case of former Vistacorp employee and cyber criminal, Scott Lang, who is set to be released from federal prison on July 17.”

Scott Lang, of course, is the criminal-turned-hero, played by Paul Rudd, who dons Dr. Hank Pym’s shrinkable suit to save the world in Ant-Man—and his release from prison just so happens to be the same day Ant-Man hits theaters… Interesting, isn’t it?

The “news” outlet kept the hype going on Twitter and Google Plus as well, teasing that the exclusive story on Lang is coming on Tuesday, July 7.

“Be sure to follow us online for those stories and more,” she concludes. From the sound of it, more clues connecting Ant-Man and Avengers could be on the way.

An Ant-Man featurette also posted today, featuring producer Kevin Feige talking about the importance of Ant-Man’s journey to the big screen, and the cast—Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Evangeline Lilly—speaking more specifically to the film. You can watch that here:
