Seven albums, one greatest hits collection, 13 Country Chart-topping singles and 12 Grammy-noms in, country superstar Dierks Bentley is aware of what constitutes a good performance. So when it came time to put out a video for his latest single—the fifth and title track off 2014’s Grammy-nominated Riser—he went back to a recent highlight: Performing the anthem at the 50th Annual ACM Awards this past April.

“It was really hard for me not to get emotional that night at the ACMs in Cowboy’s Stadium,” Bentley shares with EW. “I really wanted to keep the production simple and make the performance all about the arrangement and the lyrics. The reaction that night and now when we perform it on tour has already been so gratifying. People just relate to the message in that song…we’ve all lived it in one way or another.”

Check out the official live video for the midtempo rock tune below.

Bentley is currently dotting the country on his Sounds of Summer Tour with Kip Moore and spitfire duo Maddie & Tae providing support. They’ll be on the road through mid-September—a full list of dates are available on the singer’s website.
