  • Mark Wahlberg and his Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon director Peter Berg are in talks to reteam for Mile 22. From a script by Graham Roland, the film follows a CIA agent trying to move an informant 22 miles away from a city to safety. Ronda Rousey and Iko Uwais will costar. [The Hollywood Reporter]
  • Terminator: Genisys actor Griff Furst has been cast in Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven. John Lee Hancock and Nic Pizzolatto wrote the script for the remake of John Sturges’ classic western (itself a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai), and Furst joins an already all-star cast including Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Matt Bomer, and Peter Sarsgaard. Furst has also signed on for John Lee Hancock’s The Founder, which is about how Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald’s, built his fast food empire. Michael Keaton and Linda Cardellini are set to star, and Robert Siegel wrote the script. [The Hollywood Reporter]
  • Amin Matalqa’s romantic adventure film The Rendezvous has found its stars in Castle’s Stana Katic and Homeland’s Raza Jeffrey. Adapted by screenwriter Terrel Seltzer from Sarah Isaias’ book A New Song, the film follows two people in Petra, Jordan trying to track down a sacred ancient artifact before other interested parties get there first.   • Baggage Claim costars Paula Patton and Terrence Jenkins will be appearing together again in Bille Woodruff’s indie rom-com The Perfect Match, about “what happens when a successful playboy meets his match,” per The Hollywood Reporter. Kali Hawk and Joe Pantoliano have also signed on to the film, penned by Dana Verde, Gary Hardwick, and Brandon Broussard. [The Hollywood Reporter]
  • Daniel Sauli has been cast in Confirmation, the upcoming HBO movie starring Kerry Washington as Anita Hill. In a script from Susannah Grant, the film will dramatize the 1991 Supreme Court nomination hearings for Clarence Thomas, during which Hill accused him of sexual harassment. Dope helmer Rick Famuyiwa is set to direct. [Deadline]
