'Snowden' trailer: Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as the most wanted man in the world

The first teaser for Oliver Stone’s upcoming biopic Snowden doesn’t actually show Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the former National Security Agency contractor, but it instead highlights Edward Snowden’s military career before he became “the most wanted man in the world,” accompanied by an upside down American flag and a haunting soundtrack.
Adapted from the books The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man by Luke Harding and Time of the Octopus by Snowden’s Russian lawyer Anatoly Kucherena, Snowden stars Gordon-Levitt as the whistleblower, with Shailene Woodley playing his girlfriend, Lindsay Mills. Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans, and Nicolas Cage also star.
Snowden will hit theaters on Christmas Day.
